Switch from Zakeke to Cmsmart

If your WooCommerce store runs Zakeke, the Cmsmart team can move your customisable products to the Cmsmart Ecommerce Plugin for WooCommerce. Your WooCommerce products, orders and customers stay where they are. Product set-ups, templates and print settings are rebuilt in Cmsmart. We start with a free written assessment.

About this service

Zakeke is a trademark of its owner. Cmsmart is not affiliated with or endorsed by Zakeke.

Who this service is for

WooCommerce store owners who sell personalised or printed products with Zakeke and want the designer to run as a plugin inside their own store. Zakeke is a subscription platform with plans by published-product count and a fee on each custom product sold (source: Zakeke pricing, accessed 4 Oct 2026). If Zakeke's 3D configurator, virtual try-on or multi-platform reach are central to your business, staying with Zakeke is a valid choice, and the assessment will tell you so.

The Cmsmart plugin has been in active development since 2016; version 2.17.0 was released on 2 Oct 2026. Our comparison guide, Zakeke alternative for WooCommerce, sets the published facts side by side.

What moves and what is rebuilt

The designer runs inside WooCommerce, so most of your store data never has to move.

DataWhat happens
WooCommerce products, variations, prices, categoriesStay in WooCommerce. We enable the Cmsmart designer on them.
Orders and customer accountsStay in WooCommerce. Before the old designer is turned off, we export any print files you still need from open orders.
Design templatesRebuilt manually as Cmsmart templates from your original files. There is no automatic importer.
FontsRe-uploaded as custom fonts (TTF/WOFF) or picked from Google Fonts, if your font licence allows it.
Clipart and imagesRe-uploaded (SVG or image files) from your original source files.
Pricing rulesMapped to Cmsmart print options and price settings; close to the original, but may not match exactly.
Product configurations (options, design areas, views)Rebuilt as Cmsmart product settings, print options and templates from your product information.
3D configurator and virtual try-on set-upsNot part of the standard migration. Cmsmart lists 3D and AR preview on its plugin page; we scope any 3D or try-on work separately as custom development.
Designs customers saved on ZakekeWe do not move them. Confirm with Zakeke what you can export; reorders of old designs need to be set up again.
Your Zakeke subscriptionYou cancel it yourself, after the Cmsmart set-up is live and verified.

What the Cmsmart plugin gives you after the switch

  • Designer tools: text (including curved text), clipart, customer photo uploads, layers, shapes, QR codes and freehand drawing, on desktop and mobile.
  • A template library that customers can start from.
  • Print options and a price matrix with quantity breaks.
  • Print output: Premium exports PDF print files that match the order, including custom sizes (2.17.0); check a sample against your printer's spec.
  • Artwork review: Accept or Decline on the order, with an email to the customer; approved artwork is locked on the server (2.17.0).
  • AI Print-QA (Preflight) (2.10.0): checks uploaded artwork for resolution, colour mode, fonts, bleed and transparency.
  • AI on your licence (2.12): Background Remover, Upscale and Preflight run on your Cmsmart licence and tokens.
  • AI access controls (2.15): choose who can use AI tools.
  • A 30-day free trial from your Cmsmart dashboard.

How the switch works

  1. Free assessment. You share a product list, screenshots or exports of your current settings and admin access to a staging copy; we send a written assessment.
  2. Staging set-up. We install the Cmsmart plugin on a staging copy. Zakeke stays active on live products.
  3. Rebuild. Product set-ups, templates, fonts and clipart, starting with your best sellers.
  4. Price and print check. We test prices and compare sample print files with your print specs.
  5. Your review (UAT). You place test orders on staging and sign off.
  6. Go-live. Products switch over in batches; Zakeke is turned off on the products we have moved.
  7. Aftercare. Support runs through tickets in your Cmsmart dashboard; ongoing maintenance is available.

What you provide

  • Admin access to a staging copy of your store, or permission to create one.
  • A list of the products to move, in order of priority.
  • Original template, clipart and font files, and confirmation that your font licences allow web use.
  • Your printer's file specs: size, bleed, colour mode and file type.
  • Pricing rules, plus two or three sample orders to use as test cases.
  • One contact person who can review and approve each batch.

We use the minimum access we need, work on staging and delete copies of your data after handover.

The website is very well made. However, I would like to point out the quick response of the staff, especially Ms. Andrea, who solved all our problems very quickly and kindly. Thanks.

NBDesigner is a very robust plugin for printing shops. It may take a bit of time to learn, as I am, but the support team is there to help. I've been in printing 30 years and I am impressed with how the developers have thought this plugin through. It has everything.
